Cocoa is an exotic fruit that grows on tropical trees, with a thick pod that hides seeds rich in nutrients and sweet flavor, the same ones used to make chocolate and other treats. It's sold as one whole cacao fruit. You can crack it open and suck on the sweet, slightly tart white pulp surrounding the seeds, the traditional way to enjoy it. The seeds can also be dried and roasted at home if you want to experiment with homemade chocolate. Store it at room temperature and open it when you're ready to eat, since once opened it should be enjoyed soon.
