In English
Carambola, or star fruit, is a Southeast Asian tropical fruit that forms stars when sliced; it is also grown in Puerto Rico.
Juicy and crisp, sweet to tart, getting sweeter as it turns fully yellow.
Wash it, trim the dark edges of the ribs, slice crosswise and remove the seeds; the skin is edible. Eat it fresh, in salads, as a garnish or blended into juice.
